Ingredients

For the Donuts:

  • All-Purpose Flour (1 ½ cups): Provides structure.
  • Baking Powder (1 tsp): For fluffiness.
  • Baking Soda (½ tsp): Helps the donuts rise.
  • Salt (¼ tsp): Enhances flavor.
  • Sugar (½ cup): Sweetens the batter.
  • Egg (1 large): Binds the ingredients together.
  • Greek Yogurt (½ cup): Keeps the donuts moist.
  • Milk (¼ cup): Adds moisture.
  • Unsalted Butter (¼ cup, melted): For richness.
  • Vanilla Extract (1 tsp): Adds warm notes.
  • Fresh Strawberries (½ cup, finely chopped): For natural strawberry goodness.

For the Strawberry Glaze:

  • Fresh Strawberries (¼ cup, pureed): For vibrant flavor and color.
  • Powdered Sugar (1 ½ cups): Creates the glaze.
  • Milk (2 tbsp): Adjusts the consistency.
  • Pink Food Coloring (optional): For a more vibrant pink.
  • Sprinkles (optional): For decoration.

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat and Prep
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a donut pan with non-stick spray.

Step 2: Make the Donut Batter
In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar. In another bowl, whisk egg, Greek yogurt, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until combined. Gently fold the wet ingredients into the dry mixture. Stir in the chopped strawberries.

Step 3: Fill the Donut Pan
Spoon the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about ¾ full.

Step 4: Bake the Donuts
Bake for 10–12 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the donuts comes out clean. Let the donuts cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.

Step 5: Prepare the Strawberry Glaze
In a small bowl, whisk together the strawberry puree, powdered sugar, and milk until smooth. Add a drop of pink food coloring if you want a brighter pink glaze.

Step 6: Glaze the Donuts
Once the donuts have cooled, dip the tops into the strawberry glaze and place them back on the cooling rack. Decorate with sprinkles while the glaze is still wet.

Notes

  • Don’t Overmix: Mix just until combined to keep the donuts light and fluffy.
  • Use Fresh Strawberries: They bring natural sweetness and color to the donuts.
  • Cool Before Glazing: Let the donuts cool completely to prevent the glaze from sliding off.
