Ingredients
For the Pasta:
- 12 oz pasta (penne, rotini, or rigatoni work best)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 lb ground beef (or thinly sliced steak)
- 1 small onion, thinly sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp smoked paprika
For the Cheese Sauce:
- 1 ½ cups beef broth
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tbsp cornstarch (or flour)
- 1 ½ cups shredded provolone cheese (or mozzarella)
- ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
Instructions
Boil the pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
In a large skillet over medium heat, heat the olive oil. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess grease if necessary.
Add the sliced onions and bell peppers to the skillet and sauté for about 5 minutes, until softened. Stir in the garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and smoked paprika. Cook for another minute until fragrant.
In a bowl, whisk together beef broth, milk, and cornstarch until smooth. Pour the mixture into the skillet and bring to a simmer, stirring occasionally.
Reduce heat to low and stir in the provolone, cheddar, and cream cheese. Continue stirring until the cheese is fully melted and the sauce is smooth and creamy.
Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat in the cheesy sauce. Let it simmer for 1–2 minutes so the flavors meld together.
Garnish with extra cheese or fresh parsley if desired. Serve hot and enjoy every creamy, cheesy bite!
Notes
- Use Thinly Sliced Steak: If using steak instead of ground beef, cook it quickly over high heat for the best texture.
- For a Spicy Kick: Add red pepper flakes or diced jalapeños.
- Make it Extra Creamy: Stir in a splash of heavy cream for a richer sauce.
- Storage: Keep leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat with a splash of milk to keep the sauce creamy.
