Ingredients
Scale
For the Ravioli:
- 1 lb lobster ravioli (store-bought or homemade)
For the Lemon Butter Sauce:
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/3 cup chicken or vegetable broth
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon lemon zest
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for richness)
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
Step 1: Cook the Ravioli
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
- Add the lobster ravioli and cook according to the package instructions (usually 3-5 minutes) or until they float to the top.
- Drain the ravioli and set aside, reserving 1/4 cup of the pasta water.
Step 2: Make the Lemon Butter Sauce
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Pour in the chicken or vegetable broth and bring to a simmer. Let it reduce slightly, about 2 minutes.
- Lower the heat and whisk in the heavy cream, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Cook for another 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste. If desired, stir in Parmesan cheese for a creamier sauce.
Step 3: Combine and Serve
- Gently add the cooked ravioli to the skillet, tossing to coat them in the sauce. If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of the reserved pasta water to reach your desired consistency.
- Transfer the ravioli to serving plates, spooning extra sauce over the top.
- Garnish with chopped parsley and additional Parmesan cheese, if desired.
Notes
- Use Fresh Lemon: Freshly squeezed lemon juice and zest give the sauce a vibrant flavor.
- Don’t Overcook the Ravioli: Cook just until tender to avoid splitting.
- Customize the Sauce: Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a little heat or swap parsley with basil for a unique twist.
- Homemade Option: If using homemade ravioli, ensure the filling is flavorful and sealed well to prevent bursting.
