1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
For Serving:

Lemon wedges on the side
Instructions
Step 1: Season the Shrimp
-
In a bowl, toss shrimp with olive oil, salt, pepper, smoked paprika, and garlic powder until well coated.
-
Let it sit while you prep the rest of your ingredients.
Step 2: Sear the Shrimp
-
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
-
Add shrimp in a single layer and cook for 1½–2 minutes per side, until just pink and cooked through.
-
Remove shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
Step 3: Make the Creamy Garlic-Paprika Sauce
-
In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add butter.
-
Once melted, add minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using).
-
Cook for 30 seconds to 1 minute, until fragrant.
-
Stir in smoked paprika, onion powder, and salt.
-
Pour in the heavy cream, scraping up any brown bits from the bottom for flavor.
-
Simmer for 2–3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly.
Step 4: Add Cheese and Lemon
-
Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted and sauce is smooth.
-
Add lemon juice for a touch of brightness.
Step 5: Return the Shrimp and Finish
-
Add cooked shrimp back to the skillet and stir to coat in the creamy sauce.
-
Simmer on low for 1–2 minutes until heated through.
-
Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
Step 6: Serve and Garnish
-
Serve immediately over pasta, rice, or with crusty bread.
-
Sprinkle with chopped parsley and serve with lemon wedges.
Notes
Use Fresh or Frozen Shrimp – If using frozen, thaw completely and pat dry before cooking.
Don’t Overcook – Shrimp cooks quickly; overcooked shrimp become rubbery.
Let the Sauce Simmer – This helps it thicken and blend flavors.
Add Veggies – Spinach, roasted red peppers, or mushrooms are great stir-ins.
Adjust Spice – Control the heat by adjusting red pepper flakes or paprika.
