Ingredients
Scale
- 4 slices of your favorite bread (sourdough, whole grain, or brioche work great)
- 4 oz roasted turkey, thinly sliced
- 4 tablespoons cranberry sauce
- 4 slices of cheese (Swiss, cheddar, or Havarti are excellent options)
- 2 tablespoons butter, softened
- Optional: 1 tablespoon mayonnaise or Dijon mustard (for added flavor)
Instructions
- Assemble the Sandwich
- Lay the bread slices flat. Spread cranberry sauce on two slices.
- Add a layer of sliced turkey on top of the cranberry sauce.
- Place cheese slices over the turkey.
- Top with the remaining bread slices. Spread butter on the outer sides of the bread.
- Optional Flavor Boost
- If desired, spread mayonnaise or Dijon mustard on the inner side of the bread before adding the turkey and cranberry sauce.
- Grill the Sandwich
- Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat.
- Place the sandwiches in the skillet, buttered side down. Cook for 3-4 minutes per side or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- Serve and Enjoy
- Remove from the skillet and let cool slightly. Slice in half and serve warm.
Notes
- Use Quality Bread: Choose bread sturdy enough to hold the fillings without becoming soggy.
- Layer Wisely: Place cheese closest to the bread to ensure it melts properly.
- Low and Slow: Cook over medium heat to allow the cheese to melt fully without burning the bread.
