- 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter (for greasing the dish)
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon fresh parsley or chives, chopped (for garnish)
Optional Add-Ins:
- Diced cooked bacon, ham, or sausage
- Sautéed spinach, mushrooms, or diced bell peppers
- A sprinkle of red pepper flakes for heat
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat the Oven
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Grease the baking dish with butter to prevent sticking.
Step 2: Whisk the Eggs
3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, salt, and pepper until well combined.
Step 3: Assemble the Dish
4. Pour the egg mixture into the greased baking dish.
5. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
6. If using, add your choice of optional add-ins, spreading them evenly.
Step 4: Bake the Eggs
7. Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the eggs are set and slightly puffed.
Step 5: Add Parmesan and Broil (Optional)
8. Remove the dish from the oven and sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese on top.
9. For a golden, bubbly finish, broil on high for 1-2 minutes. Keep a close eye to avoid burning.
