Ingredients

Scale

For the Salmon:

  • 4 salmon fillets (56 oz each)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

For the Linguine:

  • 12 oz linguine
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth (or vegetable broth)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Optional Garnishes:

  • Fresh parsley, chopped
  • Lemon wedges
  • Extra Parmesan cheese

Instructions

Step 1: Cook the Pasta

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the linguine according to package instructions until al dente. Drain, reserving 1/2 cup of the pasta water, and set aside.

Step 2: Season the Salmon

  1. In a small bowl, mix the paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, thyme, oregano, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Pat the salmon fillets dry and rub the seasoning mixture evenly over both sides.

Step 3: Sear the Salmon

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the salmon fillets skin-side down (if skin-on) and cook for 3-4 minutes per side until blackened and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

Step 4: Make the Creamy Sauce

  1. Reduce the heat to medium and add butter to the skillet. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  2. Pour in the heavy cream and chicken broth, stirring to combine. Simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
  3. Stir in Parmesan cheese, lemon zest, and lemon juice. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Step 5: Combine Pasta and Sauce

  1. Add the cooked linguine to the skillet with the sauce, tossing to coat evenly. If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of the reserved pasta water to loosen it.

Step 6: Serve

  1. Divide the creamy linguine among plates and top each with a blackened salmon fillet. Garnish with fresh parsley, extra Parmesan, and a lemon wedge if desired.

Notes

  • Don’t Overcook the Salmon: Cook just until the salmon flakes easily with a fork to keep it moist and tender.
  • Adjust the Heat: Add more or less cayenne pepper depending on your spice preference.
  • Use Fresh Ingredients: Freshly grated Parmesan and lemon juice elevate the dish’s flavor.
  • Make it Lighter: Swap heavy cream for half-and-half or a plant-based alternative if desired.
