For the Stir Fry:
- 8 oz (225 g) egg noodles or rice noodles
- 1 lb (450 g) beef strips (sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced)
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (divided)
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 carrot, julienned
- 3 green onions, chopped (reserve some for garnish)
- 2 teaspoons minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
For the Sticky Sauce:
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce (optional for extra umami)
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water (slurry)
Instructions
Step 1: Cook the Noodles
- Boil the noodles according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Toss the noodles with a drizzle of sesame oil to prevent sticking.
Step 2: Prepare the Beef
- In a bowl, coat the beef strips with cornstarch and a pinch of salt.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Sear the beef strips for 2-3 minutes on each side until browned. Remove and set aside.
Step 3: Stir Fry the Veggies
- In the same skillet, heat the remaining 1 tablespoon of oil.
- Add garlic and ginger, cooking for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Toss in the broccoli, bell pepper, and carrot. Stir fry for 3-5 minutes until crisp-tender.
Step 4: Make the Sticky Sauce
- In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, and oyster sauce.
- Add the cornstarch slurry and mix until smooth.
Step 5: Combine Everything
- Return the beef to the skillet, followed by the cooked noodles.
- Pour the sticky sauce over the stir fry and toss to coat everything evenly.
- Stir fry for an additional 2 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken and coat the ingredients.
Step 6: Garnish and Serve
